Hello, I'm Jo...

I’ve always loved to listen and problem solve. I worked as a journalist for twenty-five years and interviewed people from all walks of life, from A-list celebrities to front-line workers and inspiring leaders. I'm a natural cheerleader and always see the positives in people rather than the problems, so it came as no surprise I was drawn to coaching.
Words matter to me, and the language we use to describe ourselves. As a published author of nine novels, I'm an expert at creating new plot lines. I'm fascinated by the stories we often tell ourselves and how we can write ourselves better ones. I have co-run writing retreats, led creative workshops and worked as a media trainer.
I've always been interested in personal development. After an inspiring trip to Australia in 2016 to find myself (still looking), I retrained and moved into the wellbeing space, with a particular interest in spirituality and loneliness.
As a coach and trained active listener, it's my job to support you and hold the space for ideas, insights and answers to arise (plot spoiler: it does happen).

As a mental health and wellbeing coach for teenagers, I understand the power of early intervention and talking about the little things before they become the big things.

One of my other roles is an ambassador for the wonderful Tree of Life For Animals (TOLFA) in Rajasthan, India. Spending time in a different culture always gives me new wisdom and widens my perspective. My puppy cuddling skills are pretty good, too.

In a nutshell, working with me will be fun, interesting, doable and feel-good, and will bring you real results.
I also ask really good questions - you could say it's my superpower!

Important stuff:
I am accredited with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), a trained Mental Health First Aider and hold an additional Certificate in Holistic Counselling (AHHCA & IICT). While I offer a therapeutic space, I'm not a counsellor or therapist and do not offer these services.

I am fully insured and DBS checked.

What clients say

“I felt very stagnant in my life when I went to see Jo. Rather than feeling overwhelmed, I was left with a 'I can and will do this' attitude. I regained my confidence and had a much clearer understanding of what I needed to change. Thank you Jo, your wisdom and ability to truly get me, and to hit the nail on the head, has been invaluable and truly life changing."
I felt lost when I went to see Jo. She not only showed me the way, but that I'd been holding the map all along.
